Laura Hartung joined the Office of General Counsel in November 2024. Prior to joining the Office of General Counsel, Ms. Hartung worked as an Assistant State Attorney for Florida’s Fourth Judicial Circuit prosecuting a wide range of cases from misdemeanors to first degree felonies.
Ms. Hartung completed her undergraduate studies at The University of Tennessee, where she earned a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Language & World Business with a concentration in Japanese and a minor in French. She received the Chancellor’s Citation for Academic Excellence and was inducted as a member of Phi Beta Kappa. She received her Juris Doctorate degree from William & Mary Law School where she served as a Lead Articles Editor for the William & Mary Law Review and was the recipient of the McGlothlin Leadership Scholarship.
Ms. Hartung is a member of the Florida Bar, Jacksonville Bar Association, Jacksonville Women Lawyers Association, the Florida Association of County Attorneys, and a past associate of the Chester Bedell American Inn of Court.
