Jacksonville Signature Events

FLORIDA-GEORGIA FOOTBALL GAME
FLGA-logo.pngThe first meeting between the two rivalry teams occurred in 1915 and has been renewed annually since 1926. Starting in 1933, the game has been played in Jacksonville, at what is now TIAA Bank Field, except years when the stadium was under renovations.
 
The series record is 52-43-2, with Georgia leading with the most wins. The longest win streak is tied by both teams at a 7-win streak. Some notable FL-GA Hall of Famers include: David Pollack(GA), Herschel Walker(GA), Pat Dye(GA), Jevon Kearse(FL), Richard Seymour (GA), Steve Spurrier(FL), Fred Taylor(FL), Danny Wuerffel(FL), Knowshon Moreno (GA), Tim Tebow (FL).

 
THE PLAYERS CHAMPIONSHIP
THE PLAYERS logoThe PLAYERS Championship was established in 1974. The tournament has been played at Jacksonville’s TPC Sawgrass Stadium Course since 1982 and is considered the 5th Major in Golf.
Jack Nicklaus was first winner in 1974. The best winning score was -24 (264) by Greg Norman in 1994. Six players have won the tournament more than once, most being Jack Nicklaus with three wins, five others tied with two. 


TAXSLAYER GATOR BOWL 
GatorBowl-Logo.pngThe TaxSlayer Gator Bowl is an annual college football bowl game held at TIAA Bank Field since 1946. It was originally named the Gator Bowl; the TaxSlayer Gator Bowl was first played under new title in 2015 after being title sponsor since 2011.

The game is operated by Gator Bowl Sports and televised by ESPN network. The selection process is between one SEC team versus one Big 10 or ACC team or Notre Dame.



JACKSONVILLE JAZZ FESTIVAL
LOGO-no-date_JJF.pngThe Jazz Festival is a weekend celebration of music during memorial day weekend. The event has been held downtown since 1982 and was founded by former Jacksonville Mayor Jake Godbold.

The weekend festival has featured world-renowned performers like: Chick Corea Trio, Gregory Porter, The Rippingtons, Joey Alexander Trio, Jane Monheit, Lucky Chops and more!
