With help from many Downtown business owners, supporters and advocates, JTA has extended the Riverside Trolley's hours of operation for the November Art Walk on Wednesday, November 3. If the service has good ridership, JTA would consider permanently extending its trolley hours on Art Walk nights and possibly extend other services as well.
Downtown supporters also have asked JTA for monthly passes at a reduced rate, bulk rate pricing for participating merchants to use in a variety of ways and a GPS-based smart phone application. While JTA is open to all of the ideas, the extension of the hours of the Riverside Trolley service at November's Art Walk is the first step. If that is successful, JTA will consider the other ideas.
On Wednesday, November 3, the Riverside Trolley will run until midnight with 50 stops every 35 minutes. The following restaurants are offering trolley riders great deals on November 3 (all freebies require a food/entrée purchase).
- Indochine – free appetizer
- Chew – free glass of house wine
- Riverside Liquors - free drink
- O'Brothers – free house wine or draft beer
- Mossfire – free house wine or Margarita
- Biscottis – free house wine
- Orsay – free house bubbles
In addition to the discounts listed, the Casbah Café will extend 20% off your bill for trolley riders on a regular basis, and for Art Walk evening, they will also buy your first draft beer!
This is a very exciting development for connecting urban neighborhoods to Downtown and is a great opportunity to show JTA support of the Riverside Trolley. Please come ride the trolley on Wednesday, November 3!
