The St. Johns River Ferry connects the north and south ends of Florida State Road A1A in Duval County, linking Mayport Village and Fort George Island via a pleasant sail across the St. Johns River.  In operation since 1948, the ferry gives passengers a scenic break from highway travel aboard one of the last remaining public ferries in the state.
