In a joint news conference today, Mayor Lenny Curry, City Council President Greg Anderson, and JAXUSA Partnership and Fidelity Investments® officials announced that the company plans to add 300 jobs over the coming three years as part of an expansion of its Customer Contact Center in Jacksonville, pending approval of state and local incentives.

The City of Jacksonville is hosting the annual Florida-Georgia football game on Saturday, Oct. 31, at 3:30 p.m. The University of Florida will take home field against the University of Georgia at EverBank Field. Jacksonville has been home to this historic rivalry since 1933.

Mayor Lenny Curry has identified three area leaders to serve as members on the Jacksonville Port Authority (JPA) and Jacksonville Aviation Authority (JAA) boards of directors. John D. Rood, chairman for The Vestcor Companies, Inc., has been appointed to the JPA. Availity CEO Russ Thomas and Demetree Brothers, Inc. President and CEO J. C. “Jay” Demetree, Jr. have been appointed to the JAA.

Mayor Lenny Curry announced today the appointment of Kenneth Lathrop as division chief of the city’s Information Technologies Division (ITD). Lathrop has more than 28 years of leadership experience with the City of Jacksonville.
