City Office and Facilities Closed Martin Luther King, Jr. Day

In observance of Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, the following City government offices and facilities will be closed Monday, Jan. 18.

City Converting Two COVID-19 Testing Facilities to Vaccination Sites, Locations Will Activate Monday

Operations at two senior centers will transition from COVID-19 testing to vaccine distribution starting Monday, Jan. 11. The vaccination sites at Mandarin Senior Center (3848 Hartley Road – 32257) and Lane Wiley Senior Center (6710 Wiley Road – 32210) will run Monday – Saturday from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. In accordance with State priorities, at this time the vaccine will only be available to Duval County residents who are 65 years of age or older, frontline medical workers or first responders.

City of Jacksonville to Host the 34th Annual Martin Luther King, Jr. Breakfast Presented by Florida Blue Virtually this Year

The City of Jacksonville invites the community to celebrate the life, legacy and service of Martin Luther King, Jr. at the 34th Annual Martin Luther King, Jr. Breakfast presented by Florida Blue. This year’s event will be free and open to the public via a virtual livestream.
 

City's Solid Waste Division Encouraging Residents to Safely Dispose of Household Hazardous Waste and Electronic Waste at Collection Event

With a focus on addressing blight, the City of Jacksonville offers citizens opportunities and events that promote appropriate disposal of waste and other debris. This effort includes the Solid Waste Division’s Household Hazardous Waste (HHW) and Electronic Waste (e-waste) Mobile Collection events where residents can take items, like chemicals and small appliances, to locations throughout the city to be properly discarded.

Today, leading health and well-being company, Humana Inc. (NYSE: HUM), announced the City of Jacksonville as the winner of its inaugural Go365® Most Active City Step Challenge in Florida. As the contest winner in the Go365 wellness and rewards program contest, Humana will donate 9,000 meals to Feeding Northeast Florida in the City of Jacksonville’s name.
