Safety and Crime Reduction Commission Launching Mental Health Awareness Campaign

A citizen-led group is working to bring awareness about the impact of violent crime, trauma and mental health within our community. The Jacksonville City Council Safety and Crime Reduction Commission (SCRC) will launch a campaign to connect residents with available resources and services. The goals are to break the cycle of generational trauma and end the stigma of mental health. It’s important for everyone to know that mental health care is just as important as physical well-being. Commissioners will host a news conference on Feb. 16 at 10:30 a.m. at The Church of Oakland, 1025 Jessie St., to share their upcoming community plan.

Mayor Curry Announces Refinancing that Will Save Citizens More than $31 Million

The City of Jacksonville drew an incredible amount of attention from investors yesterday with a debt refinancing that will save citizens more than $31 million over the next ten years.  The transaction, led by Bank of America Securities, saw over $1.1 billion of orders from 20 investors versus only $121 million of bonds available for sale.

City Announces Relocation of COVID-19 Antibody Treatment Site

The State of Florida, in partnership with the City of Jacksonville, will be relocating the Regeneron Antibody Treatment from the Main Library to the Joseph Lee Center (5120 Perry St. – 32208) on Friday, December 10. The hours of operation will remain unchanged (Monday through Sunday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.).
