Geographic Information Systems (GIS)

The GIS Section for the Planning Department creates and maintains a comprehensive library of land development and demographic/socioeconomic related datasets and GIS layers, including Future Land Use, Zoning and Council Districts/Redistricting. Through efficient use of technology resources available to us we make these layers accessible to Planning Department staff to provide the best possible information support to assist in effective decision making during the land development review processes undertaken by the department. We also provide GIS services in support of the maintenance of the Comprehensive Plan, the Zoning Code, the Mobility Plan, and other planning documents as necessary.
