Municipal Code Compliance Division

The Municipal Code Compliance Division (MCCD) aims to uphold a high-quality community environment by ensuring adherence to all relevant City standards. This involves promoting cooperation and coordination among Code Compliance, the Planning Department, the Building Inspection Division, any applicable licensing, and law enforcement agencies.

The Division is committed to promptly responding to public complaints and ensuring adequate follow-up for effective resolution.

Enforcement

MCCD enforces property maintenance, safety, and zoning codes, which affect the quality of life in Jacksonville. These laws address property nuisance, unsafe structures, residential/commercial minimum building standards, zoning, and (private property) junk vehicle violations.

Tenant Complaint

To report issues with a rental unit, such as plumbing that does not work, exposed wires, holes in floors or ceilings, or any issue that might be a safety concern, please use this link and select Create Request under House or Unit Issues. Condemned Structure - Access Pass Application

The purpose of an access pass is to allow the owner of a Condemned or Unsafe structure(s) time to achieve compliance in accordance with Chapter 518, Property Safety and Maintenance Code.

No person, including the property owner, may enter a Condemned or Unsafe structure(s) without an active access pass.

Download the access pass application here, or pick up a paper copy in the lobby of the Municipal Code Compliance Division located at 214 North Hogan Street, 7th Floor.

Jacksonville Assistance and Relief Program (JAR)

The purpose of the Jacksonville Assistance and Relief Program is to facilitate a means of compliance to those who would otherwise be unable to achieve it due to disability or economic disadvantages. The Program’s objective is to provide the abatement services required at no cost to those citizens who qualify, thereby achieving compliance and beautification of the City while not unduly burdening its most vulnerable citizens.
