About us
Animal Care and Protective Services (ACPS) is dedicated to providing the highest standard of care and finding loving homes for our animals. We have several departments, each playing a crucial role in the well-being of our furry friends. Here’s a look at what each department does:
Accountant
Our accountant manages the financial aspects of the shelter. They handle budgeting, financial reporting, and ensure that funds are allocated effectively to support our operations and mission.
Adoption Counselors
Adoption counselors work with potential adopters to find the perfect match. They assess the needs and preferences of adopters and provide information about the animals available for adoption. Their goal is to ensure that each animal goes to a loving and suitable home.
Administrative Staff
The administrative staff handles the day-to-day operations and ensures the smooth running of the shelter. They manage records, coordinate communication between departments, and support the overall administrative needs of the organization.
Animal Care Staff
Our animal care staff are the heart of our shelter, providing daily care to our animals. They ensure that each animal is fed, groomed, and housed in a clean and comfortable environment. They also monitor the health and behavior of the animals, reporting any concerns to the medical staff.
Animal Services Officers
Animal services officers are responsible for enforcing animal control laws and ensuring the safety of animals and the community. They rescue stray or injured animals, investigate reports of animal cruelty, and educate the public about responsible pet ownership.
Behavior Team
Behavior staff assess animal temperaments, create and implement training and enrichment programs, educate staff and volunteers, support adopters, and monitor animals' progress to improve adoptability and well-being.
Foster Team
The foster team coordinates the temporary care of animals in foster homes. They recruit foster families, provide training and support, and ensure that animals receive the care they need while awaiting adoption.
Leadership
Our leadership team provides strategic direction and oversight for the shelter. They work on long-term planning, policy development, and community outreach. The leadership team ensures that the ACPS’s goals align with its mission and that all departments work together effectively.
Medical Team
Veterinarian: Our veterinarian oversees the health and medical care of all animals in the shelter. They perform surgeries, diagnose illnesses, and develop treatment plans.
Vet Techs: Veterinary technicians assist the veterinarian with medical procedures, administer medications, and provide post-operative care. They play a vital role in maintaining the health of our animals.
Social Media and Marketing
Our social media and marketing team promotes the shelter’s mission and events through various online platforms. They create engaging content to raise awareness, attract volunteers and donors, and showcase animals available for adoption.
Volunteer Team
Our volunteer team recruits, trains, and supervises volunteers who help in various capacities at the shelter. Volunteers assist with animal care, events, administrative tasks, and more. The team ensures that volunteers have a rewarding and positive experience.
Each of these departments works tirelessly to ensure the best possible care for our animals and to support our mission of finding them loving homes. We are grateful for the dedication and compassion of our staff, volunteers, and supporters. Thank you for being a part of our community!
