Jerry Holland began his City Council career in July of 1999 with a desire to make Jacksonville a better place to live.
During his first term in office, Jerry served on all seven standing committees and as President of the Council during the 2002-2003 Council year. His leadership brought the Council through such important issues as the Comcast negotiations, and the implementation of JaxCare, the pilot program for the uninsured working poor.
During the 2004-2005 Council year, Holland served as the Council Chaplain. He served as President of the Northeast Florida Regional Council.
Jerry was President of Jerry Holland Homes and Holland Homes Realty. He was also the Varsity baseball coach for Paxon School for Advanced Studies.
He earned his Master's Degree in Education and his Bachelor's of Business Administration in Transportation and Logistics from the University of North Florida. He also recieved a Bachelor's of Science in Data Processing from Jones College and was a graduate of Fletcher Senior High School.
Jerry was elected Supervisor of Elections for Duval County in a Special Election held on March 29, 2005.
