In accordance with the provisions of Section 674.206, Ordinance Code, the Honorable Donna Degan, Mayor of the City of Jacksonville, has requested that the Jacksonville City Council convene in a Special Meeting. Mayor Deegan’s Chief Administrative Officer will address the City Council Sunday, August 4, 2024, at 10:00 am in the Council Chamber, 117 West Duval Street, 1st Floor, City Hall-St. James Building.

Mayor Deegan’s Chief Administrative Officer and the Emergency Management Leadership will report to the Council on the status of Tropical Storm Debby to provide facts and circumstances concerning the disaster potential and her recommendations in connection therewith.
All interested parties are invited to attend.

Join us for a FREE art class along the beautiful Riverwalk in Downtown JAX!

We've partnered with @jaxartistguild to help run and lead four art classes per month, designed to teach and expose people of all ages to various types and techniques of art. Each month, we be offering 4 individual sessions of art classes for 4 different age groups, Youth, Teens, Adults, and Seniors! Every month the location will change to a different downtown riverfront park, and feature a different style/medium of art. All art materials will be provided.

Council Member Terrance Freeman, ALPHA Starz, Inc in partnership with Walmart hosting  “Pack the Sack II” an annual event to provide school supplies and backpacks to 10,000 Duval County students.  Last year the event distributed 5,000 backpacks filled with school supplies. This year there will be vendors, free haircuts, and resource information for families and students.

The Marketplace will be open monthly and accessible to the public.
