Notice is hereby given that the Honorable Tommy Hazouri, President of the Jacksonville City Council, hereby CANCELS the TRANSPORTATION, ENERGY & UTILTIES AGENDA MEETING (TEU) scheduled for Tuesday, June 1, 2021, at 117 West Duval Street, 1st Floor City Hall, St James Building, Jacksonville, Florida.  ALL COMMITTEE MEETINGS OF THE CITY COUNCIL ARE STILL SCHEDULED FOR THE WEEK OF June 1 – June 2, 2021.

Announcement of Duval County Courthouse Public Art Project Winner

In partnership with the Cultural Council of Greater Jacksonville, Mayor Lenny Curry will announce the selection of the public art project for the Duval County Courthouse lawn.
The announcement follows a national search and months of dialogue with community input. After receiving more than 140 submissions, the Art in Public Places committee selected three proposals from some of the most experienced and prominent public artists in the United States for consideration. The three finalists for the Duval County Courthouse plaza project are:
  • Cliff Garten, Cliff Garten Studio – Venice, CA
  • Walter Hood, Hood Design Studio – Oakland, CA
  • Matt Niebuhr and Dave Dahlquist RDG Art Studio – Des Moines, IA
The three-acre lawn of the Courthouse will become a safe, active urban park with multiple spaces for small events, free speech, and sculptures. View the Cultural Council’s website for more information.
