Every 2nd Thursday a VSO will be at the Charles Webb Wesconnett Regional Library to provide general information on MAVD services, HVRP, tax preparation and upcoming events. .  They can also assist clients with completing an Intent to File claim.

Notice is hereby given that the Jacksonville City Council Regular Council Meeting previously scheduled and noticed for Tuesday, October 8, 2024, at 5:00 p.m. will now start at 3:00 p.m. in the Council Chamber located at 117 West Duval Street, 1st Floor City Hall – St. James Bldg., Jacksonville, Florida 32202. The revised start time is in response to the declared state of emergency by Florida Governor, Ron DeSantis, (Executive Order Number 24-215, amending Executive order 24-214) due to the possible dangerous impacts of Hurricane Milton on the region.

All items on the Council agenda scheduled for a public hearing or public participation pursuant to Florida Statutes and/or the Jacksonville Ordinance Code shall not be heard until 5:00 p.m. or as soon thereafter as Council may call those items up to be heard.

City Council| Special Council Meeting Regarding Hurricane Milton

In accordance with the provisions of Section 674.206, Ordinance Code, the Honorable Donna Deegan, Mayor of the City of Jacksonville, has requested that the Jacksonville City Council convene in a Special Meeting. The Mayor, or her designee, will address the City Council on Tuesday, October 8, 2024, at 3:00 p.m. in the Council Chamber, 117 West Duval Street, 1st Floor, City Hall-St. James Building. At the conclusion of the Special Council Meeting, the City Council will adjourn and will immediately convene for its regular meeting.

Mayor Deegan, or her designee, will report to the Council on the status of Hurricane Milton to provide facts and circumstances concerning the disaster potential and her recommendations in connection therewith.

All interested parties are invited to attend.
