USO Armed Forces Half Marathon & Freedom 5K

The annual Jacksonville Marine Corps Half Marathon & Freedom 5k will be held on Saturday, October 20, 2018, the 15th year now under its new name, USO Armed Forces Half Marathon & Freedom 5k! The city of Jacksonville has been voted one of the top ten running cities in the nation by Runner’s World magazine. Volunteers from every branch of our military community, with support from corporate organizations and the civic community, will come together to promote this event and the mission of the Greater Jacksonville Area USO. Following in the traditions set by the internationally respected Marine Corps Marathon in Washington, D.C., the USO Armed Forces Half Marathon & Freedom 5K will continue to provide an opportunity for the Florida community of runners to interact with our military members and provide invaluable support to our local Veterans and deployed Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen, and Marines.
American Legion Post 88's 5th Annual Fall Festival will be on Saturday, October 20th from 11:00 A.M. to 3:00 P.M. There will be food, games, activities, a bounce house and fun for the entire family.

The fifth Memorial Park Association Speaker Series will feature Rory Diamond of K9s for Warriors on October 20th from 10:00 A.M. - 11:00 A.M. at Memorial Park.

During the centennial of the Great War (1914-18), the Memorial Park Association will host a series of special programs and events to commemorate the first global war in history. 

The fifth Speaker Series will feature Rory Diamond of K9s for Warriors. He will speak about how K9s For Warriors Research is changing the service dog world for warriors and long-term effects for the civilian population. After his talk, please join the Association for the Memorial Park Walking Tour.
